French Quarter Mourning (Original)
As Mardi Gras season began, I found myself behind my easel, reflecting on the 14 innocent lives lost on Bourbon Street. This tragedy inspired a departure from my usual style, creating a somber piece that speaks to our collective mourning.
In the painting, the iconic New Orleans Cathedral stands surrounded by ghostly white trees, illuminated by 14 bright stars representing the lives taken too soon. The crescent moon watches over, while the Cathedral’s clock marks 3:15 a.m.—the moment time stood still, and NOLA was forever changed.
To honor these lives, I’m offering limited-edition lithograph prints of this artwork. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the New Orleans New Year's Day Tragedy Fund to support the victims' families.
NOLA will Never Forget 1/1/25.
