"I painted the poster 6 years ago, so being commissioned to paint it again has been a dream come true! They allowed me to choose the subject matter, so of course, I chose the iconic, beautiful St. Louis Cathedral! For me, the Cathedral symbolizes hope and faith that the people and New Orleans are resilient and can bounce back from anything. Using her palette knife, Becky Fos can hand-embellish the canvas print by applying a high-gloss varnish. The application of varnish mimics the impasto texture of her original paintings.
