Figuratively Speaking is my newest collection of original artwork.

This collection has truly been a labor of love. After years of working almost exclusively with oil paints and a palette knife, I challenged myself to step outside my comfort zone. For this series, I traded my oils for acrylics and picked up a paintbrush, embracing a completely different creative process.

Inspired by familiar idioms and turns of phrase, Figuratively Speaking transforms everyday expressions into colorful, whimsical works of art. From Love Is Blind to Over the Moon and Be a Flamingo in a Flock of Pigeons, I wanted to take sayings we hear all the time and imagine what they might look like if they came to life. Creating this collection gave me permission to let my imagination—and my inner child—run free.

The result is a series unlike anything I've created before, and I'm so excited for you to experience it. I hope these paintings make you smile and spark your imagination.

Figuratively Speaking is available as original acrylic paintings, paper prints, and canvas prints. Each original acrylic painting is finished with an acrylic resin topcoat, creating a high-gloss finish with a touch of “fairy dust” sparkle that brings each piece to life.
